Justice at Scale: Leveraging High-Throughput Computing to Analyze Millions of Judicial Records - Presented by David Swanson Awardee
Saloni Bhogale at HTC26
June 9, 2026
Saloni Bhogale, the 2026 David Swanson Award recipient, presents her research on legal institutions in the developing world at Throughput Computing Week 2026. Using high-throughput computing resources at UW-Madison’s CHTC, she analyzed 80 million Indian judicial records to study barriers to court access, work that would have taken 15 years on a laptop. Her findings show that adding council members to village governments increases case filings by 51%, revealing a direct link between local democracy and access to justice.
